SANDY

sandy, weather, hurricane, disaster, natural disaster, East Coast, america kirschen : Dry Bones cartoon. After spending the day watching the news coverage of Sandy, the superstorm, I sketched out this cartoon. The LSW (Long Suffering Wife) looked at it and said that nobody would recognize the cartoon reference to Sandy (Arf Arf) Little orphan Annie's dog. "Wrong!" I said, "and besides, I had fun drawing it."Meanwhile we both hope that all of our East coast fans and friends are safe.

Those of us of a certain age remember Sandy well. Younger people know him from the musical. Is the comic still in the newspaper??

B"H - I sent in a talkback to a leftist (need I spell it out?) paper saying that my impression was that Hashem, our G-d, does not approve of the American way of life - but it was censored.

Not that young (50+) but didn't recognize LOA's dog, till it was pointed out. Guess the only comics I've been reading for the past 30 years since my Aliyah is Dry Bones & Srulik.

Well, your LSW was half right. I recognized it immediately but my husband did not.

Cute cartoon.

I recognized Sandy, but I am older than dirt! (Not really, but sometimes I feel that way)

I thought it was really cute! Even my kids would recognize Sandy; sorry to one LSW from another (I can relate to corny jokes).

This might be the first time you wife was incorrect. Sandy reigns supreme.

B''H

People from outside the U.S. do not recognize Sandy immediately, but as you pointed out to LOA, then we can relate to it.

Talking about something else, Mr. Ariel Ben Yochanan is saying that he was censored by some leftist newspaper... does this have anything to do with Dry Bones? Else, might you be complaining on the wrong place?

Yochanan is a welfare bum that lives from your tax money. He has no job and no visible means of income. He is worthless along with his opinions.

B"H - Re Danny Thomas: The title of the cartoon is "SANDY", it is a reaction to Hurricane Sandy and I'm too talking about Sandy and about a reaction to Hurricane Sandy. That is connection and yes, it is a wrong place for me to be, not for the reason you mention, but because every time I write something here I get personally attacked and delegitimized by an obnoxious anonymous that Bones allows on his blog. The heart of the matter is that seculars can't and secularists won't see Hurricane Sandy as a rather obvious case of divine intervention: The usual arrogance of men thinking they are god and therefore anything that is against man and/or his dollars has, for them, to be evil. I contest this world-view and no Anonymous will ever stop me.

When are you going to get a job and quit bumming from my tax money? Lazy moocher!

It is not an attack. It is the truth!. You know it!.

When are you going to change the picture on your worthless blog that no one looks at?. You look nothing like that. You are now big and fat and old. You got fat from eating for free from a government that you hate! You are just a recent convert of less than 10 years. I know you. I see you all the time.
At 9:47 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...
You certainly do not have to worry about money. You have no job to earn any honestly. You live for free out of my pocket!

I also know Yochanan. I have watched him incite crowds to confront the police while he stands back at a safe distance and watches.
At 10:02 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...
That is true Rotem. I once watched him stand about 10 meters from the police meekly holding up a tiny sign with text so small they could not possibly have read it!. Brave Yochanan!.

Shalom, Yaakov,

I recognized Sandy right away

also: I "upped" my Kickstarter to $36, but my 'rewards' amount stayed at 18. Will that change?

Ben Yochanan is right. God exists, He is a Player, He runs the world and this IS the Jewish understanding of things. If he lives on welfare, as Anonymous 8:41 claims, he does so legally, so cool it, he is just another law abiding citizen. Yaakov Kirschen, you shouldn't allow this character-assassination by an anonymous on your blog and the fact that you do, tells a lot about you.

B"H

Thank you Anonymous 2:52, I agree with you! :)

No cooling it until this bum quits coming here and attacking us and the people in the US. He can take him free loading self elsewhere.
At 4:22 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...
This post in defense of this bum was written by Yochanan himself. He thinks he is smarter than all of us here. He needs to take his sorry ass back to Italy.
At 4:26 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...
He is not a law abiding citizen. He incites over throw of the legal government here. He needs to be deported.
At 6:12 PM, Anonymous Rotem said...
Yes, it is obvious Andras Bereny(Yochanan) posted in his own behalf. The complaining to Kirschen about it and use of certain words proves it. He does think the people here are far less intelligent than he is. I have known him since he came to Israel. He wants to return our government to the 2000 year old Halakha law. We would not last a week against the islamists with a backward country as this. He has only been here and a convert for less than ten years. He sees himself as a Torah expert.
At 6:55 PM, Blogger Ariel Ben Yochanan said...
B"H - Yeah I agree, Anonymous 4:26, I would indeed need to be deported - if Israel wasn't "The only democracy in the Middle East" of which you are such a staunch supporter of. Oops, but then it would be the Torah State I want and YOU would have to be deported for your extreme secularism: You can't even take your own rules and your own narrative seriously, let alone mine. Besides, wishing to deport a G-d fearing Jew from the Land of Israel is a rather anti-Semitic of a ranting, don't you think so? If you don’t want to be irritated by Jewish, Torah concepts in general and by my comments in particular, it would be much easier for you Anonymous, to introduce comment moderation on your blog. This is what most serious bloggers do.

Your Torah state will never be. Thank G-D we have smarter people in charge. Quit being such a cry baby. If you don't like the way this blog is done, stay away.
