No Other Deal? By Ariel Ben Yohanan (Andras Bereny)

This is comment # 9 on Yair Lapid's article in support of exchanging arch-terrorist Kuntar for two bodies

No Other Deal? By Ariel Ben Yohanan (Andras Bereny)

- Yair Lapid: "There’s no other deal"

- Ariel Ben Yohanan: Yes, there is - or better, there was: we could choose and win the 2nd Lebanon War, destroy hezb'allah and bring our boys home dead, or maybe alive at that time. But no, you leftist losers have decided that it is better to appease the goyim, lose the war and the boys with it.

The young soldiers and the reservists died for nothing in that conflict. For nothing!

- Yair Lapid: "Those who try to hint that they would do it better are lying"

- Ariel Ben Yohanan: You are lying Yair Lapid because you insinuate that this country, Israel, can have no better leaders than the ones you are paid to serve with your naked propaganda pieces. You are insulting ordinary intellect.

The fact Yair Lapid is that every Jew knows that there is a halacha (Jewish Law) on this that forbids us to pay too much ransom. Your arguing that giving a living Kuntar for two bodies is not an honest argument and hundreds of Jews and Israelis will G-d forbid pay the price for it as from tomorrow and in the coming years. G-d save the skin of poor Shalit now, apparently still alive.

Your reasoning, Yair Lapid is immoral precisely because it favors the dead against the living and we are commanded to choose life.

We urgently need a leadership that not only knows Torah but applies Torah. This includes leaving you alone in your corrupt and secularist Knesset and working for Torah institutions: expert judges, the Sanhedrin and a king. Your secularism Yair Lapid is leading the Jewish people to die. If we are to survive, we have to do away with you.

A Goy Bridge

This piece first appears as comment #10 at "A Truly Ugly Bridge", pulling a number of angry comments on itself from readers of this left-leaning web-site. Anti-Jewish sentiment in Israel is alive and well it seems.

A Goy Bridge

The Chords Bridge of Jerusalem is a goy bridge to symbolise the rule of the erev rav over the Jews in Israel. Designed by a Spanish and made in Italy, assembled by Israeli firms that don’t distinguish between Arab and Jewish labor, it is an arrogant phallic symbol towering over holy, modest Jerusalem: an altogether goy concept. Even the dressed up girls dancing in the inauguration ceremony is precisely: a goy concept. I wouldn’t be surprised if G-d tore it down next winter with a lightening.

"Vayikach Korach - And Korach took..."
(Numbers 16:1)by Rabbi Chaim Richman
Sivan 23, 5768/June 26, 2008

Thus begins the story of Korach, the man who would be king. The two opening words in Hebrew, "Vayikach Korach," really tell us all we need to know about Korach. He took. Even before the verse can finish conveying just what Korach took, it is clear that Korach takes what he wants, when he wants, and for his own nefarious purposes. As it turns out the verse in this instance is referring to 250 men that Korach took. How did he take these men? He took them by their hearts, feeding the sweet but deceitful lines about holiness and equality. Why should Moses and Aaron lead, he asked, when we are all equally holy? It remains a persuasive argument to this very day. If we are all equal, and all holy, and each of us can approach G-d in his own way, than why can't we pick and choose, and cut and paste to suit our own needs, the way we serve G-d? Or to use more current terminology, the way we define good and bad, the way in which we perceive and define justice.

We are taught by our sages that Korach was a talmid chacham - a Torah scholar, but his great knowledge of Torah could not prove a fence against his aggrandized sense of self and entitlement. Not being able to find in Torah a reason why he, and not Moses, should lead the people, and why he, and not Aaron, should be the High Priest, he jettisoned the Torah, deciding to go it alone, in order to attain what he felt was his.

We are taught in Ethics of the Fathers (5:13) the following: "He who says, "What is mine is yours, and what is yours, is yours," is a pious person. But one who says, "What is yours is mine, and what is mine is mine", is wicked." When Moses first hears Korach's contention that he, Moses, has amassed too much power for himself, "he [Moses] fell upon his face." (Numbers 16:4) In response to the charge that he has greedily taken for himself that which belongs to others, he shows total self-abnegation - literally falling on his face. Moses has only what G-d has given him, and desires nothing more. He is the pious man: "What is mine is yours, and what is yours, is yours: what's mine belongs to You G-d, and what You have delegated to others is also Yours."

Korach inverts this formula, saying: "What is yours is mine, and what is mine is mine: what you G-d have given to Moses belongs to me. I desire and therefore deserve it. Surely it stands to reason that if what belongs to me is mine, than also what You have granted to others also belongs to me." In effect, the will of Korach trumps the will of G-d, rendering G-d's will, well... irrelevant. Once Korach has reached this place in his logic there is no G-d, there is no Torah, there is no creation. The clever trap Korach set for Moses has caught himself instead. Korach has painted himself into an existential corner. He is alone.

The beautiful and tragic irony of Korach is that once he has made it indisputably clear to G-d that His creation can't contain the ambition of Korach, G-d "accepts" his position, as it were, and creates, yes, creates, specially and solely for Korach and his following, a place in this universe where they can truly be alone, unencumbered by G-d, and man, and Torah: "The earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them and their houses, along with all the men who were with Korach and their property." (Numbers 16:32)

Of course Moses was unique. But his model for selfless leadership for the true good of the people of Israel should enlighten our eyes even today. Far too often modern day Korachs usurp the role reserved for the righteous, and lead the nation not to the tent of meeting to take council with G-d, but to the pit of their iniquity, a place of regret and recrimination.

Anti-Semitic article that pulls anti-Semitic talkbacks by Ariel Ben Yohanan (Andras Bereny)

Anti-Semitic article that pulls anti-Semitic talkbacks by Ariel Ben Yohanan (Andras Bereny)

Neta, "Orthodox elements" is pejorative wording. Giving voice only to the secularist side is unprofessional. Your journalism seems to be one-sided war-propaganda.

Furthermore, confusing modest clothing, a generally accepted requirement in Judaism, for "taliban" behaviour is outright anti-Semitic. The taliban are islamic Jew killers and: attention! Not to be confused with completely normal religious Jews. And yes, the pride march is an anti-Semitic provocation in the heart of Jerusalem. The fact that your piece links the two stories says a lot about anti-Jewish sentiment in Israel today. You are reducing Judaism into something "scandalous" and "backwards". This unti-Jewish attitude is intolerable, especially reporting on a story in Jerusalem, Israel.

“Pure” and “impure”, “main-stream” and “fanatic” are relative terms Larry and I don't think anyone is interested in a discussion of this sort. The question is what is Jewish and what is not Jewish and why so many Jews insist on doing things the goy way.

This topic however is far too important to be discussed in the "Comments" section of Jewish looking anti-Jewish articles. I refuse to count the characters while presenting an important concept for the survivor of the Jewish People. And yes, I'm refering to A7 editorial policy.

Illegal police acton in Yitzar by Ariel Ben Yohanan (Andras Bereny)

The following is comment #4 under http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/126557

Illegal police action
The preliminary paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence make this new pogrom blantly illegal. No Israeli security force is allowed to be used against Jews occupying their land in Eretz Israel:

"ERETZ-ISRAEL [(Hebrew) - the Land of Israel, Palestine] was the birthplace of the Jewish people. Here their spiritual, religious and political identity was shaped. Here they first attained to statehood, created cultural values of national and universal significance and gave to the world the eternal Book of Books.

After being forcibly exiled from their land, the people kept faith with it throughout their Dispersion and never ceased to pray and hope for their return to it and for the restoration in it of their political freedom.

Impelled by this historic and traditional attachment, Jews strove in every successive generation to re-establish themselves in their ancient homeland."

Connecting The Dots by Ariel Ben Yohanan (Andras Bereny)

As US Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice visits the Middle East only five months away from the end of her mandate and bashes Israel over Jewish so called "settlements" and Jewish housing projects in Jerusalem and so on, actively campaigning for the displacement of Jews and establishing an Arab terror state on the Land of Israel, back at her home hundreds if not thousands of Americans are being forced to leave their homes, seemingly - because of a flood.

there he goes again...
Tricky, Dr. IDOLberg. You ask a leading question: "Can it be that the people of Israel have long been enslaved by a political system that entrenches cowards and liars in office?" This would seem to imply that a mere change of the "system" would engender more beneficial results. But here is where your own "see-no-evil, hear-no-evil and speak-no-evil mentality" comes into play, Dr. IDOLberg. For it is patently not the political system that is the source of our problem. If so then we might well tweak it (as you have suggested ad nauseum) to produce a purer form of democracy -- and in so doing, also legitimize your academic career. But alas, it is not to be. For you have wasted your years in academia if this is the best you can produce. The G-d of Israel has no interest in Knessets or Bagatzes and electoral districts or democracies. He wants a Sanhedrin, a King and a Beit Hamikdash.

Hamas vs Ariel Ben Yohanan (Andras Bereny)

- Ariel Ben Yohanan: Sharon's state of vegetation is a sign from Hashem!

It may be interesting

It may be interesting what Mr. Feiglin has to say about the IDI report. On the other hand, it may not be. In the view of many his desire to "turn the State of the Jews into a Jewish State", by means of signing up good Jews to his Likud party fraction, is nothing short of fraud and should disqualify him from the mission. Why? Because Judaism is not democracy and democracy is not Judaism. The knesset is a democratic, not a Torah institution and therefore it will never produce a “Jewish State”. The best it can do is a democratic state. Do we want this? Personally if I wanted to live in a democratic state I'd have never made aliyah. So, what we need Mr. Feiglin, are not elections and democratic reforms in this country. They might work well for the goyim in the rest of the world. What is needed here is institutional discontinuity and the establishment of new, Torah institutions that rule on the Land according to Torah mechanisms: with G-d’s help yes, that will turn this State of the erev rav into a Jewish State!

Info on Joseph's Second Dream

Ariel Ben Yohanan (Bereny) - was born in Hungary in 1956 to a secular Jewish family with important artistic traditions. He studied in Budapest and lived and worked in the UK, Italy and Israel. He was the youngest candidate for the Italian Senate in 1996 with an independent, specifically pro-Israel message directed against the European boycott of the Jerusalem 3000 celebrations.

More recently Bereny became religiously observant and in 2004 moved to a small village five kilometers (three miles) south of Shechem (Nablus).

Bereny’s thoughts and art focus on Torah themes, Jewish concepts and values.

Joseph - was one of the 12 sons of the Patriarch, Jacob. He was his father’s favourite son and his brothers hated him for this. They hated him even more for his dreams in which he saw himself as a ruler over them. In the second of two dreams involving them Joseph sees the sun, the moon and eleven stars bowing down to him. His father, equally aghast, asks: “What is this dream that you have dreamt! Are we to come – I and your mother and your brothers – to bow down to you to the ground?”

After being sold into slavery, Joseph rises to become viceroy of Egypt, second only in command to Pharaoh. In this capacity he is able to save not only Egypt from famine but also his family, the seed of the future Nation of Israel. On their reunification the brothers bow to Joseph and the Jewish sojourn in Egypt begins.

When the Jews eventually leave Egypt, they take with them the bones of Joseph and bury them in Shechem, in Eretz Israel, just a few short miles north of where “Yosef’s Second Dream” was painted and this text was written. Our Sages (Mesechta Sotah 13b) explain that it was from where Ya’aqov's family lived in Shechem that he was abducted by his brothers and sold into slavery, so it was to Shechem that his remains were returned.

One of the earliest casualties of the current Oslo War was Jewish control of Joseph’s tomb and Jews pray, here in Israel and throughout the world, that this horrible loss will shortly be redeemed.

“Yosef’s Second Dream” - is an acrylic on canvas measuring 30x40 cm, (roughly 12x16 inches), signed with an original Andras Bereny C.O.A. on the back.

It features two suns, two moons and twenty-two stars to represent the movement of bowing of the sun, moon and eleven stars. The dream is rendered in a sea of blue, white, silver and gold, representing the purity and extraordinary success of Yosef HaTzaddik (Joseph the Righteous), the material wellbeing of Egypt under his administration and the salvation of the Jews. A silver and gold haze represent the Ruach HaKodesh (Divine Inspiration) that according to Pirkei d'Rabbi Eliezer 39 rested on Joseph from his youth until his dying day.

Red often is a symbol of blood, violence and war. Here it represents the blood and the war that was and the blood and the war that will be fought for G-d’s glory, to recapture Joseph’s tomb and the entire Land of Israel from the occupying Amalekite invader.

“Yosef’s Second Dream” is a statement of faith, hope and trust that G-d will deliver us from the poverty and famine of our current Golden Calf state, of our misguided and misguiding "leaders" with the help of His righteous Messiah, may it come speedily in our time. Amen.

A limited edition of individually numbered art-prints on canvas or on museum grade paper as well as a posters edition are also on sale. For prices please contact the artist directly here or send an email to bereny@tin.it

Here we go! Or here we come?

I would like to start this new blog off by thanking all the friends who "pushed me" as it were into it and with whom I discussed various aspects of it for months. They were helpful, enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

The launching date is significant: today is Erev Shavuot 5768. Shavuot marks the giving of the Torah and there is no better time to remember that the physical and political freedom of the Jews is not complete without the intellectual, spiritual and institutional incorporation of the Torah into Jewish individual and national life. With G-d's help this blog will contribute to achieve just that: "We will do and we will understand" Amen.
